Banana bread

When Anne asked me this morning for the recipe, I figured it's time to pin it down - Compliments to Caroline who introduced me to this very decadent variation of a banana bread:

3 bananas, mushed up
2 eggs
125 g butter
half a cup of sugar (brown sugar if possible)

1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda ('natron')
pinch of salt

Chocolate (choc chips, anything works - I like to cut in a 100 g Ritter sport 50% Kakao slab)
Nuts (about a cup of walnuts work well, crushed)

1. Turn the oven to 170 degC.
2. Mush up the bananas.
3. Cream butter and sugar. If there is no mixer available, it works equally well by melting the butter a bit and mixing in the sugar.
4. Add eggs to bananas.
5. Fold in the butter/sugar mix into the banana mix.
6. Mix together the flour, baking powder, Natron and salt.
7. Add carefully the flour mix into the banana mix.
8. Add chocolate and nuts.
9. Bake at 170 degC for about 1 hour. Test after 45 min to see if it is done.
