Recently someone whose opinion on the matter I value greatly, referred me to this publication by Louis Jonker and Ernst Conradie on the topic of interpreting the Bible. The title of which is "Angling for interpretation". If you think of it "angling" - a kind, peaceful image, no harsh bombastic search for what you want - rather a tiny thin string thrown out into a vast (almost uncomprehendable) mass (ocean) in the hope to attract what you are in search of. Without knowing what will come up from it. Much like the way I often read the Bible at present.
